24yr accused of blackmailing 100+ minors with nude images

Nude Images & Blackmail.

It’s a real dangerm, especially for youth, in the age of digital sharing of everything from personal data to private messages and images. A landmark announcement from Dutch Public Prosecutor’s Office (Openbare Ministerie) re. a 24jr old young man who seduced young girls into sending him naked pictures of themselves, and then threatened to go public with these images if they didn’t pay him.

Mental and social fall-out for the victims is horrendous.

I recall the young boy who killed himself after a naked picture of his was posted online. While looking up the case, I found more similar stories. #heartbreaking

Tip: Teach kids, from an earlier-than-you-think age, to be mindful of images they send or post on the internet or social media. And that posting nude images is a REAL red flag danger and action.

Tip: I use a phone cam mini cover (a glitter plush sticker, but there are more official items with actual sliders). These are good teaching tools to discuss and help remind about boundaries–physical AND digital. <3
