Prevention Playlist Live! & 2 Tips to help keep kids safe during Lockdown

The last day of February, and second month of Lockdown in the new year–but work to protect kids doesn’t quit!
While many sports clubs and Scouts are continuing to meet outside, and some Youth Centers are opening to offer space for youth, parents still need to keep alert for their kids.

Kiss and Ride constructions, or drop-off your kid and leave, isn’t as ideal as seeing your kid playing/sporting/dancing from e.g. behind a large window or in the corner of the room.

Keep Teaching your kids about body boundaries.
Also that kids or adults shouldn’t show them pictures of other people’s private parts, or ever see their private parts. More info here.

-Check in with how staff/volunteers are screened
How are their protocols for working with children? Do they have any signed statements? Or is it just a VOG/Police background check? More than 95% of CSA cases never get reported so this “screening” does nothing.

Don’t be afraid to check-in with organisations, keep communication lines open with your children and know: a little goes a long way for helping kids–not just yours.
